Clothes Closet Safety Monitor

The Clothes Closet Safety Monitor is responsible for overseeing client activities during busy nights in the Clothes Closet. This role ensures clients receive help finding what they need while maintaining order and organization in the space, fostering a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities:
Monitor client activities to ensure a smooth and respectful environment
Assist clients in locating specific clothing items and sizes
Maintain order and organization within the Clothes Closet
Provide support and answer any questions clients may have
Communicate effectively with team members to address any issues
Skills:
Strong observational skills, effective communication, empathy, customer service, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

The Clothes Closet Team manages the collection, organization, and distribution of clothing donations. Volunteers assist with sorting and arranging clothing and maintain a welcoming environment for clients to select items.

Donation Intake Team Member
1st Saturday of each month 8:45 - 11:00 am

The Donation Intake team is responsible for receiving, organizing, and processing donations. Volunteers help ensure that all items are properly sorted and ready for distribution or sale.
Role: Process and organize incoming donations.
Responsibilities: Receive, sort, and prepare items for distribution or sale.

Lobby Host
Tuesdays 5:15 - 7:30 pm

The Lobby Host focuses on providing direct support and assistance to individuals and families seeking help. Volunteers should be compassionate and possess strong interpersonal skills as they engage with clients to assess needs and offer appropriate resources.
Role: Offer direct support to individuals and families in need.
Responsibilities: Engage with clients, assess needs, and offer resources.
Skills Required: Compassion, strong interpersonal skills.
eBay Team Member
Tuesdays 5:15 - 7:30 pm

Shop HighPoint volunteers help us price non-essential donations and prepare them for sale.
Team eBay works with clothing items. This team takes clothing items and lists them on eBay. That includes taking pictures and following a procedure to list the items under our Shop HighPoint eBay store. Computer skills are a plus and this schedule is flexible without set times for volunteering. Training is available for all positions.
Role: Assist with operations or sales events.
Responsibilities: Sorts prices and prepares both new and used items for resale.
Skills Required: Customer service, inventory management.
Food Pantry
No shifts currently available.

The Pantry team manages the distribution of food items to those in need. Volunteers help organize, stock, and distribute food, ensuring that clients have access to essential nutrition.

Food Box Homebound Delivery
Mondays 10:00 - 11:00 am

Homebound drivers are responsible for client food box deliveries, using their own vehicles to deliver food to those who cannot come to HighPoint in person.
Role: Transport goods and supplies.
Responsibilities: Drive various vehicles, ensure timely delivery of items.
Skills Required: Valid driver's license, reliability, and ability to drive trucks.
Looking for a group opportunity?
Group volunteer opportunities are perfect if you have a sports team, Sunday school class, small group, or office team that wants to volunteer together.
Tour & Serve
This is a great work team-building opportunity. We will schedule a date for your group to tour HighPoint with our Executive Director, Annette Ball. After learning about the services we provide, your team will have the opportunity to serve your community in our food pantry.
Tour & Serve
Each Thursday between 5:00 - 7:30 pm. Appointment Required.
Meal Providers
HighPoint serves 3 meals each week to our client families and are always looking for additional groups to work with. The group would prepare, provide and serve the meal to client families. Some positions require some additional food safety training.
CrossPoint Meal Provider
1st Thursday of the month, 4:00 - 7:45 pm for approximately 140 people (5-10 volunteers needed)
Youth for Truth Meal Provider
1st, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of the month, 5:00 - 7:00 pm,
for approximately 30 students (2-5 volunteers needed)
Special Projects
“Many hands make light work.” This is especially true of special projects at HighPoint. We gratefully rely on groups to help with client events, facility needs, and other projects that can’t be completed during normal operating hours. Depending on the time of year, special projects might include packing Thanksgiving boxes, restocking food shelves, changing out seasonal clothes in our closet, or refreshing our paint.
