Our Leadership

Announcing our New Executive Director

Earlier this year, HighPoint’s Executive Director, Amee D’Amico, announced plans to resign by the end of 2025. Over the last nine months we have been preparing for that significant transition in leadership. We want to express our sincerest thanks to Amee for leading HighPoint through a pivotal time of tremendous growth in every facet of our organization during the past seven years. We are grateful to Amee for her leadership in building our organizational identity and culture where we care compassionately and serve sacrificially, providing real help and real hope for the individuals and families we serve. We are also grateful for her generous gift of time and preparation this year to facilitate a smooth leadership transition. We know Amee cares deeply for HighPoint and will continue to Give, Serve, and Belong to the great work at HighPoint for many years ahead.

HighPoint Charitable Services is proud to announce the appointment of our new Executive Director, Annette Ball.

After an extensive search, including fifty candidates applying for the position, Annette was selected by a search committee comprised of members of HighPoint’s Board of Directors. Annette’s faith, compassion, leadership, and non-profit experience will be vital in this next season of ministry at HighPoint.

A Louisville native, Annette, began her non-profit career over 22 years ago, fueled by a passion to help her neighbors meet basic needs, while living out her faith. She is no stranger to working with food insecurity, with 20 years of her career at Dare to Care Food Bank. In her role as Chief Programs Officer, she developed initiatives to serve all ages, more than tripled the number of meals being served to children through innovative and collaborative efforts and was instrumental in starting two community kitchens. Most recently she has worked on the Advancement Team at DeSales High School, focusing on event planning and fundraising for student financial assistance. Annette has found fulfillment in her career through building relationships, supporting community well-being, and highlighting unmet needs through media and public speaking. Her love for the Lord motivates her to strive for excellence, compassion, innovation, and continual learning. Annette holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Louisville.

Annette and her husband, David, live in LaGrange along with their three children and their labrador retriever. She enjoys gardening, tackling home projects, visiting the farmer’s market, drinking chai lattes, and being with her family. She also enjoys volunteering around Oldham County, including at her church, Crestwood Baptist, with the tiny tots.

Annette is excited to begin as Executive Director at HighPoint on Monday, October 13. In her first few weeks, she will focus efforts on meeting our volunteers while learning about our programs and culture and what makes HighPoint such a special place.  To make Annette’s transition positive, departing Executive Director, Amee D’Amico, will remain on staff until Friday, November 7. Annette and Amee will spend an abundant amount of time discussing all aspects of the organization, making introductions with community partners, and concluding a smooth transfer of leadership.
